Here is a short wrap-up from this past week—September 19 through September 23 —in the Upper School.
Clubs met on Tuesday for the first time this year. With their new members and leadership, each club looked ahead at the Fall term and discussed what they hope to accomplish.
On Wednesday, 9th and 11th grade students had Class Meetings. 11th graders exercised their doodling skills by participating in a game to earn points for their respective houses. Communicating only through drawing on one another’s backs, the goal was to pass along a prompt from one team member to another.
Beaver athletes had a big day on Wednesday, with several teams securing victories. You can check out this week’s scores at the bottom of this post.
9th and 11th Advisory took place on Thursday. Both grades discussed what hazing is and engaged in conversations centered around protecting themselves and one another. These conversations, guided by Massachusetts law, aim to help students identify and strategize if they ever find themselves in similar situations.
In Class Meetings for 10th and 12th grade, students had a chance to take a break with some fun activities. Students in 10th grade had a period of playing basketball, spike ball, and volleyball. In 12th grade, students worked on designing banners for their houses.
Beaver students are ending the week on Friday with several BVR Athletics games. Upcoming games are listed at the bottom of this post.

XC: W vs. Bancroft, L vs. Portmouth Abbey & Dana Hall (Junior Will Fandrey & Senior Alex Herman on secured the new course records. Will came in first overall finishing in at 18:34 and Alex ran a 21:41!)
