More about Only In Dreams
Written by the ensemble.

With this year’s Beaver Winter play, Only in Dreams, we look to examine dreams and their collective power to connect us, frighten us, and enliven us. Drawing on Jon Lipsky’s book on performing through dreams, titled Dreaming Together, students will explore dreams from their own lives in order to better understand their own anxieties, wants, and joys. Through structured dream exploration provided by director Jesse Garlick, students will learn how to collaboratively turn their dreams into staged reality, one where we look to examine the following questions: Why do we dream? What is a nightmare and how do we overcome what we are afraid of in them? What does it mean to connect with someone from our past within the world of dreams? What is our subconscious trying to tell us within our dreams? What does it mean to listen to that subconscious? What does it mean to neglect its teachings?
