For the first time, Beaver’s Alumni Board and Alumni Ambassadors gathered over breakfast on February 10, to further continue the missions of both groups in forming a connection between Beaver alumni and current students. 5 Alumni ranging in class years from 1994-2007 and 9 students ranging from sophomore to senior were in attendance. After initial introductions, the student ambassadors discussed the variety of ways that they are involved with Beaver today. Topics ranged from NuVu, to the new Women’s Ice Hockey team, to an upcoming spring break trip to Morocco to study the French language. Alumni then shared their experiences moving on from Beaver to the college world, sharing encouraging stories of how well Beaver had prepared them for the next step. The meeting finished up with open discussion and questions from both sides. The groups hope to meet again in the fall of 2014 to continue to cultivate the relationship between the Alumni Board members and the Alumni Ambassadors.
