Girls’ Varsity Basketball
The Varsity Girls’ Basketball season capped off an amazing season by winning back-to-back EIL Tournament Championships. They beat Berwick in the finals of the tournament on Saturday 49-26 to win the tournament moving their overall record to 22-0. Earlier in the week they concluded their undefeated regular season title capturing their 2nd banner is as many years. Sr. captain Kaila Duarte registered a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds. She added 3 blocks and 4 assists. Jr. Stephanie Soto-Rivera scored a two game average of 14 points. Their hard work all season has earned a #1 seed heading into the Class C NEPSAC Tournament quarterfinals on Wednesday, February 27 at Beaver 4:00 p.m.  

Boys’ Varsity Basketball
The Beaver Boys’ Basketball team went 3-0 last week. Beaver won their fourth straight EIL Tournament with victories over Lexington Christian Academy in the semi-final and a hard fought victory over Pingree in the final.  Beaver moves on to the NEPSAC Class B tournament, as they look to defend their title. Their first round game will be Wednesday, February 27 vs Brooks School at home.  Start time for the game will be 5:30 p.m.

Ice Hockey
The Girls’ Varsity Ice Hockey team traveled to Pingree this past week for their final game of the season and came away with a hard fought loss. In one of their best performances, the team left everything out on the ice to finish off a much improved season. The team had an open skate to end the week with some new faces for next season and are ready to get back on the ice next year.

Fencing

10 teams from across Massachusetts traveled to Beaver to participate in the 2013 Fencing State Tournament.  The competition lasted 8 hours beginning with team competitions in the morning and individual bouts in the afternoon.  In the end, Beaver can boast a State champion.

National Wrestling Tournament held @ Lehigh University Friday, 22-Saturday 23.

Josh Berland finished in the round of 16 finishers in the 138lb weight class. He lost his first match in but won two in the consolation bracket. Tyler Myrick was defeated in his first match and consolation bracket of the 145lb weight division. Congratulations to both boys for qualifying for Nationals.
