Congratulations to all members of the Beaver community that participated in the Boston Marathon, including Science Department Head Alison Livingston and Girls Varsity Lacrosse Assistant Coach Lily Riseberg!
The Music Discovery and Analysis club was spotlighted on Tuesday during Club Block. Club leaders Max Levy ’25 and Bowie Gray ’24 discussed their club’s goal of creating a space for music lovers centered around listening, discussing, and sharing music. Music Discovery and Analysis runs every term and is currently open to new members! Click here to learn more.
Several announcements were made during an US Meeting on Wednesday, including the following:
- Student Council announced a spike ball tournament that will kick off on Monday, April 29. The tournament is open to both students and faculty. Anyone that may be interested can sign up their team here before Tuesday, April 23.
- Mr. Egwuatu shared that applications for the NAIS 2024 Student Diversity Leadership Conference (SDLC) are now open. SDLC is a multiracial, multicultural gathering of upper school student leaders (grades 9-12) from across the U.S. and abroad. The conference will be held in Denver, Colorado from December 4-7, 2024 and interested students are encouraged to submit their application by May 3 at 4:00 p.m.
Students currently abroad in France toured the Louvre and prepared for the next stop of their trip, the Herbiers. To follow along with their travels, be sure to check out the BVR in France Instagram, updated daily by students.
Upper School students gathered in Bradley Hall on Thursday to hear from guest speaker Debbie Coltin from the Lappin Foundation. Coltin discussed the rise of antisemitism in the U.S. and educated students on the history and context of antisemitic imagery. Students had a chance to ask questions and share their own experiences at the end of the presentation.

A photo booth, created as a student directed project by Brody VanDernoot ’26, opened on campus. VanDernoot envisioned the photo booth as a space that would promote authenticity, allowing students and faculty to take a moment of their day to embrace their individuality.
On Friday, a Shabbat lunch was held in Bradley Hall for any Beaver community members that wished to attend. The Jewish Heritage affinity group and Jewish Culture club planned the lunch as a moment to celebrate Shabbat and come together. A candle lighting, prayers, Challah, and lunch were all highlights of the event.
