Leslie Osborne, co-captain of the Boston Breakers professional women’s soccer team and former US Women’s National team member, stopped by Beaver’s varsity girls’ soccer practice on November 3.
She shared experiences from her career ranging from high school where she was a Parade All-American to college at Santa Clara where she earned the prestigious NCAA Honda Award in 2004, which recognizes the nation’s top female athlete in her sport.
After a question and answer session with the team, Osborne led the girls in several drills. Girls’ varsity soccer is currently 6-5-2 and looking forward to the upcoming EIL tournament and a possible NEPSAC tournament birth.
“Leslie is a tremendous role model for our student-athletes,” said Director of Athletics Sherry Levin. “She articulated her experiences to the team while giving her perspective on leadership, excellence, and hark work. She shared her personal highlights along with insights on mental toughness and maintaining a positive attitude. We were thrilled to have an athlete of Leslie’s caliber share her story with us at Beaver.”
