- Friday’s dismissal is 2:25 p.m. for Memorial Day weekend; there are no afternoon activities. The T bus will depart at 2:30 p.m.; all other busses will depart at 3:30 p.m.
And now on to today’s recap!

IMPORTANT REMINDER
Family Survey
Zach Litwinsky ’26 spoke about the Family Survey, which was emailed out to all BVR Middle School Families last week. We encouraged students to talk to their families about completing this survey as we’d like as many responses as possible.

WHAT ELSE WE TALKED ABOUT
Mr. Rohn, middle school science teacher, is thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail. Starting in June, Mr. Rohn and his wife will hike more than 2,000 milesfrom Georgia to Maine! They both love to hike and spend time in the wilderness. You can follow his adventure on his blog, Trekking Sketches. Mr. Rohn will be back at BVR in January 2023.
Adyana Gresham ’28 and Aubrey Harper ’28 announced Dr. Joanne Lee Williams, a developmental psychologist from Rutgers, is on-campus today and tomorrow—visiting classes, meeting with students one-on-one, and attending the Students of Color meeting. She will be collecting information to help inform us on how to improve the middle school experience for all.
Student Council members Leili Singer ’26, Verveine Oringer ’27, Toby Marsh ’28, and Reid Bugbee ’28 announced the Middle School Social is happening next Thursday night from 6 to 8 p.m. in the gym. There will be games, food, candy, and music; the theme is beach/summer.
On Thursday, during recess, Ms. Hart and Ms. Graham are doing a special activity called B Kind To Your Mind, which will include gentle yoga, mindfulness, a gratitude challenge, coloring, and B Kind bracelets.
Mr. Adjout announced the Learning Opportunities and Interests Survey by the University of Washington that the 7th graders took today in R-TIME.
As the grand finale to today’s meeting, Mr. Greenberg, Ms. Winston, and I sang the school song—Stand We Now To Hail Thee, Beaver—to the whole middle school, in preparation for 8th-grade Promotion. I’m happy sad to report I do not have a video to share of this incredible performance.
STUDENT REMINDERS
There are lots of items in the lost and found—from water bottles to backpacks to sweatshirts. An email went out today to all students with the link to the lost and found slideshow. If you see an item that is yours, please email lostandfound@bcdschool.org and someone will retrieve the item and arrange for you to pick it up.
