Hello, Middle School Students and Families!
Welcome to the Middle School Meeting Minutes. I’ll be writing a recap each time we have a Middle School Meeting to give you an overview of what happened. We hope this gives you an easy conversation starter with your student who answers your question, “How was school today?” with “Fine”. It will also give you a window into the opportunities offered to Middle School students so you can gently nudge and encourage your child to try new things. Enjoy!
Ms. Smith and I ran yesterday’s meeting but usually, a student leads. I asked any MS student who was interested in running a meeting to let me know!
You can check out the slides from this week’s meeting here. You’ll see some of the slides linked below in a few of the announcements.
Ms. Smith and I welcomed everyone to the first MS Meeting of the 2023-2024 school year. We spoke about what happens during MS Meetings (announcements, celebration of student’s lives, presentations by teachers and students) and what we expect from them as an audience (to listen and participate appropriately).
- We introduced the BVR Student, which we will talk about each week in MS Meeting and advisory.
- We praised students for the smooth transition to our new no phones/smart watches policy.
All the Middle School faculty introduced themselves, including what they do at Beaver, and what they wanted to be when they grew up.
Music section leaders had a meeting to get ready for the first day of music class which is today!
Where to be before and after school
- Students who arrive on campus before 7:55 a.m. (8:55 a.m. on Mondays) can have breakfast in the Dining Hall.
- Students who are on campus after 4:00 p.m. must be in room 105 doing schoolwork.
Tomorrow is Picture Day!
Students will be brought down by their teachers to get their pictures taken.
All pictures will be taken in the Front Circle (VPAC lobby if it rains).
And that’s a wrap on first day of school announcements. We’re looking forward to a great school year!
