THE WEEKLY FEATURES
THE BVR STUDENT
James Hester ’28 presented Listens with Thoughtful Attention.
I chose this because this is something I need to work on. I have a short attention span so it’s hard to focus. I use a fidget in my hands. When I feel like I am getting off track, I take a break to look around so I don’t get distracted by something that may lead me to a long, distracting break. Without paying attention, it’s very confusing to figure out what to do in class.

Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret by Judy Blume
Recommended by Charlotte Abramowitz ’29
WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS BOOK …
It’s a relatable story with a likable main character. She’s growing up and figuring out different parts of her identity, including her religious identity as a Jewish person.
WHY I THINK YOU WOULD LIKE IT …
I recommend this book to anyone who is going through a life change. It’s a good story and a quick read.
WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT
Margo Kuznetsova ’27 talked about volunteering at the Walpole Public Library last summer as part of her Hiatt Summer Fellowship. She helped run children’s programs and learned about organizing books. Margo encouraged students to make an appointment with the Hiatt Center to find out more about how their interests could turn into a Hiatt Summer Fellowship, and she reminded everyone the deadline to apply is May 19.
Ms. Kosberg read five poems written by last year’s 8th grade students. In 8th grade English, students will be writing poems at the culminating project for the book they read for class, The House on Mango Street.
During R-TIME and advisory this week, students will be reflecting on the BVR Student feedback. Students will review the feedback they received via email last week. Then they will be filling out a Google Slides presentation and will then share that with their parents/caregivers.
Rishaan Chowdhury ’29, 6th grade Student Council Representative, announced the Guess The Candy in the Jar this month is flower-shaped candy. This is the final estimation jar of the year.
