This Veteran’s Day, Upper School students had the opportunity to hear from Dan Moynihan—a Marine veteran and retired firefighter—who is working to extend first responder benefits as well as getting health resources to those who served in the military and are direct and indirect victims of burn pits.
Moynihan is a 9/11 first responder, and he’s one of the thousands of 9/11 first responders, volunteers, and survivors who suffer from health problems caused by exposure to the toxic dust at the World Trade Center site. For the last several years, he’s worked to lobby Congress and provide financial aid and support to first responders. He also advocates for VA reform.
He Zoomed in to talk to students about his work and answered their questions about his experience and what needs to happen next.
