Congratulations to sophomore Craig Ackerman for receiving the January Athlete Spotlight by USA Gymnastics and the International Gymnastics Camp.

Craig Ackerman is a 15 year old Level 9 from New England Sports Academy in Massachusetts. Last year, at the Region 6 Championships, Craig broke his femur after an awkward fall from the Still Rings. “He has a rod in his leg that will be there for the rest of his life, and he came back. He came back into the gym while he was still on crutches,” Coach Levon Karkhanyan.

Craig’s determination has paid off. This month, he competed a Tsukahara vault for the first time!  – Nominated by Dan Young, Region 6 Chairman
