Girls Varsity Basketball –
The Girls Varsity Basketball team played one game last week vs. LCA to start off 2015. They traveled to LCA and lost 34-42 to a scrappy competitor. The team has a busy week ahead with EIL team Winsor on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. for HoopFest, and two ISL opponents in St. Marks at home on Friday and at Governors on Saturday.
Boys Varsity Basketball –
The Beaver Boys Basketball team went 2-1 last week. On Wednesday, Beaver beat league opponent Lexington Christian Academy by a score of 63-48. Sophomore Nate Freeman led the team with 21 points. He connected on five three pointers. On Friday, the team traveled to Governors Academy and came out with a hard fought 52-42 victory. The team finished the week with a tough loss to Hoosac School on Sunday. The team was led by Junior Kyle Padmore who finished with 22 points.
Girls Varsity Ice Hockey –
The Girls Varsity Ice Hockey team played their most intense and exciting game of the season against Dana Hall this past Saturday. From the start each team was trading off goal for goal throughout all 3 periods. The girls held strong throughout the game but 2 late goals from Dana sealed the game for a high scoring 11-10 loss. Corinne Downey ’18 led the team with 5 goals and 3 assists. Molly Honan ’17 and Sydney Brown ’17 each tallied 2 goals and Remi Shore ’16 scored her first of the season. The team travels to Pingree Friday afternoon before a much anticipated rematch against Dana Hall on Saturday afternoon at Dexter School.
Varsity Wrestling –
The Beaver boys in blue played host to Tabor Academy, Lexington Christian Academy, and Landmark School this past Wednesday in the Green Gym. Despite all three visiting teams suiting up very full rosters, Beaver held their own and had some standouts throughout the long day. Earning varsity wins on the day were freshman Hudson Roddy at 120 lbs and Senior co-captain Dan McDonald at 138 lbs, both coming against well-seasoned Landmark School opponents. The Beaver wrestlers host CHCH and PA this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Green Gym. If you’re in the area, stop in and show your Beaver pride!
Varsity Fencing –
The Fencing team started 2015 with another solid win. The Boys team beat Commonwealth School 17-10, and the Girls won 16-11. This week the team will travel to BB&N on Tuesday (1/13) and then to Concord Carlisle on Saturday (1/17) for the Concord Carlisle Invitational.
