Girls Varsity Soccer –
The Girls Varsity Soccer team had a challenging week. After a hard fought, difficult 2-1 loss against Newton Country Day on Wednesday, the girls returned to action the following day against rival Concord Academy. They played hard, and dominated the game, yet were unable to find the back of the net, ultimately losing 2-0. The team looks to rebound on Monday against ISL opponent Thayer.
Boys Varsity Soccer –
The Boys Varsity Soccer team hosted two EIL games this past week, winning both. On Tuesday, the team came from behind to beat Pingree 5-3. The comeback involved a three goal barrage in the final fifteen minutes. On Thursday, the boys cruised to a 5-0 lead within 30 minutes against previously unbeaten Concord Academy. The first half was the team’s best effort so far this season. This week, Landmark will come to Beaver on Monday, and the team will travel to Pingree on Wednesday. The boys are currently 5-0-1 in league play and 6-3-1 overall.
Varsity Volleyball –
The Varsity Volleyball team suffered a loss to Newton Country Day last Monday. Despite the recent string of losses, the team continues to improve. Juniors Amit Nir and Jasmine Breakstone have seen increased roles on the team and have made positive contributions in recent games. This week, the girls will be back in action hosting Chapel Hill Chauncy Hall on Monday and hosting Pingree on Wednesday.
Varsity Field Hockey –
Beaver Varsity Field Hockey had a tough week of competitions. The team lost two well fought games against top seeded Newton Country Day School and Concord Academy. The team is keeping their heads high and working hard at practice focusing on finishing in net in preparation for their game against Winsor school next week.
Varsity Golf –
The Varsity Golf Team played just one match this past week due to weather. On Thursday, the team traveled up to Maine to play last year’s league champions, Berwick. The team played well on a tough course, but Berwick played better and won 5 and 1/2 to 1/2. Aram Soultanian ’17 played his best match so far this season and halved his match. The team looks to get back on track this week, hosting LCA on Monday (rescheduled from last week), and hosting undefeated Portsmouth Abbey on Wednesday.
Varsity Cross Country –
Varsity Cross Country did not race this past week, as heavy rains washed out Wednesday’s race at Portsmouth Abbey. This week, the boys and girls teams will race Concord Academy, Bancroft, and Landmark at Concord Academy.
