Beaver’s Rene Castro ’13 added a national title to his growing list of basketball laurels when his AAU team, the Boston Amateur Athletic Club (BABC), won the U16 championship on July 30 in Orlando.

Rene, a 6’-2” point guard from Milton who led the BCDS varsity to an EIL title in 2010, impressed with his outstanding playmaking and scoring at this elite level of youth competition. BABC defeated defending champs All-Ohio 56-53 in the final round of the tournament. The 2010 title was the BABC’s thirteenth gold medal.
