Beaver’s Daisy Jordan ’11 has been named a NEPSAC Class C East All-Star for girls’ basketball. Daisy will play in this year’s East vs. West All-Star game on Sunday, March 7, at 1:30 pm at Noble and Greenough School in Dedham. Sherry Levin, head coach of Beaver’s girls’ varsity, will be one of the coaches for the East team.
Daisy’s competitive drive, court smarts and shooting ability have helped lead Beaver to a 14-4 record this season. Coach Levin says, “Daisy faces double-team, denial and ‘junk’ defenses in every game yet her post skills, strength and exceptional basketball IQ allows her to lead her team despite the defensive attention. Her exceptional attitude on and off the court, combined with her tireless work ethic, will take her to high levels both academically and athletically, and are attracting the attention of several Division I college coaches.”
In the team’s 18 games so far, Daisy has racked up some impressive stats:
21 points per game
11 rebounds per game
3 blocks per game
66% field goal percentage
Double-figures in all but 1 game
30 points three times; 20+ points eight games
15 double-doubles
The girls’ varsity has its last regular season game on Wednesday, February 24, at Gann Academy. Beaver will be the #2 seed in the EIL tournament on Saturday, February 27, at Dana Hall.
