Posted on October 8, 2025

Hello, Middle School Students and Families! Here is a recap of today’s Middle School Meeting.

Eva Bachman ’31, Ruby Parker-Geller ’31, and Avery Thompson ’31 ran today’s meeting. You can check out the slides from this week’s meeting here.

Each advisory wrote an advisory mission and created flags to represent their mission.Β The flags and mission statements were on display as students came into MS meeting today.

Announcements

✨ Ayan Toussaint ’30 and Lesleigh Robin ’30 talked about the BVR Spotlight. The BVR Spotlight is a way for students to highlight and celebrate things they are doing outside of Beaver. These could include hobbies, clubs, a talent such as music or sports, or volunteer work.

🎭 Merton Minsky ’30 and Sophie Herbstman ’30 announced the Middle School Fall Play, Sideways Stories from Wayside School. Performances are Thursday, October 23 and Friday, 24, at 6 p.m. in the Black Box. Students were encouraged to sign up to be ushers for the show.

🏫 We are excited to welcome Rodney Lopez to campus tomorrow, who will be offering an optional Community and Dance workshop during lunch/recess. Students interested in participating may sign up.

🦫 Caroline Mitchell ’30 and Elliot Fayne ’30 announced the Beaver Debate Club. This debate team is separate from the Lumos debate team and is exclusive to Beaver students. The club meets on Thursdays and will practice speaking and public forums, with plans to participate in tournaments. Students must have participated in at least 1 trimester of Lumos debate to join. A form was sent out to students to sign up.

πŸŽ‰ Feed Your Brain Day is Thursday, October 23. Students will spend the day participating in a series of engaging workshops, ranging from cooking and drone building to sports and more! This day allows Middle School teachers to prepare for conferences while students have enriching learning experiences led by BVR administrators and staff. Students will sign up this week.

Student Reminders

Students were reminded that all students wait in the lunch line. We also reminded students to let Ms. Hollos know if they want to run a MS meeting, and to pick up trash on their way out of Gym A.
