Head of School Search

The Board of Trustees has launched a national search for Beaver’s next Head of School. This moment marks an important step in the life of the school—one grounded in reflection, care, and thoughtful planning as Beaver looks ahead to its next chapter.

Throughout the process, the Board remains focused on upholding Beaver’s mission, ensuring continuity and stability for students and faculty, and identifying a leader who will build on the school’s strengths while guiding Beaver forward with vision and integrity.

Beaver has navigated moments of change before and emerged stronger because of its people, values, and deep commitment to students. This search reflects that same confidence in the school’s direction and in the community that makes Beaver what it is.

The Board expects to appoint Beaver’s next Head of School in Fall 2026, with a start date of July 1, 2027.

The Process

The Board of Trustees is conducting this national search in partnership with RG175, a search firm that works exclusively with independent schools. Our lead consultants are Tom Olverson and Rebecca Upham, both seasoned leaders with deep roots in Boston’s independent school community. They know Beaver, and they get what makes it special.

Perry Eaton

English Department Head; Upper School Faculty

Perry has been a part of the Beaver community since 2016, teaching in both the English and Global History and Social Sciences Departments, serving as a former Dean of the 9th and 10th grade, and advising the Alex Cohn Grant for special student projects. He is currently the English Department Chair and advises and teaches classes in the Upper School. Kathleen Kosberg

Middle School Faculty; P’27, ’29

Kathleen has been part of the Beaver community for many years, teaching English in the Middle School, and after more than three decades as an educator, she still believes the best learning happens when people are genuinely wondering together. Words and language fascinate her. She loves to read, write, and talk—though she tries to keep a reasonable balance between talking and listening. Interacting with storytelling is how she makes sense of the world, considering others’ perspectives and reflecting on her own experiences and feelings through literature, film, and song. Humor and connection energize and inspire her. Kathleen finds that laughter reduces stress, lifts moods, and opens doors, and that middle schoolers, when they trust you, are beautifully hopeful, complex, curious, and honest. Outside of school, when she’s not watching her two sons grow up too fast, Kathleen enjoys running and yoga, chocolate, and sunshine.
