2025 Impact Report

Welcome to the 2025 Impact Report. See how your support drives bold ideas and meaningful change at Beaver. Thank you for fueling the people, programs, and possibilities that set Beaver apart!

ABOUT THIS REPORT

Beaver’s 2025 Impact Report is told through a collection of articles that bring individual voices and moments to life. Our goal with this format is to help you see the connection between your participation and its impact on our school. These stories, which reflect gifts and volunteerism over the last two fiscal years, highlight why people support us, how time and resources make a difference, and the ways students and faculty benefit. As you read, you’ll see how generosity and volunteerism ripple through every part of our community—and how, together, we make bold ideas possible. We hope you enjoy hearing from your fellow community members and, if inspired, consider new ways to get involved with our wonderful school in the year ahead.

Beaver could not deliver on its mission to expand the nature of school without dedicated leaders and the incredible support of its community. Over the past two years, Beaver has raised more than $8 million—an achievement made possible by all of you. I hope you will read through our impact stories reflecting our last two fiscal years and see the power of our collective philanthropy.

A Message of Thanks

Interim Head of School Sarah Pelmas shares her gratitude and appreciation for Beaver—as a parent & educator.

Because of Your Support, We …

Celebrated a Milestone Birthday

Twenty years after its founding, the Hiatt Center has grown to be a model of student-centered leadership and civic engagement. A bold lead gift to Beaver launched this work and empowered students to become thoughtful, compassionate changemakers.

Expanded Our Learning Spaces

Your generosity allowed Beaver to purchase and transform a neighborhood house into a vibrant extension of campus. Today, students can walk a few steps from the Main Building to a new hub for collaboration, connection, and deeper learning.

Created Opportunities for Global Learning

When a new idea emerged mid-year for Grade 8 to experience the United Nations in New York City, philanthropy made it possible. Leadership gifts to Beaver’s Annual Fund provide flexibility for new ideas to happen. In this case, we were able to say yes to an immersive global citizenship experience and increase student belonging along the way.

Honored a Graduate’s Life

Through the Christina Clarke Genco ’06 Endowed Scholarship Fund, the Genco family’s generosity will help support a curious, creative and community minded student annually, and for years to come.

Launched a STEMM Internship Program

Beaver’s first STEMM Internship Program paired juniors with Boston-area labs and clinics for unforgettable research experiences often reserved for college-level students. Your connections opened those doors, and our capable and curious students thrived because of it.

Leveraged the Power of Alumni

Beaver’s alumni community is one of its greatest strengths. Alumni Chair Max Campion ’09 applauds those who are already volunteering and calls on more alumni to get involved—mentoring, giving, and inspiring the Beaver of today.

The more engaged our network is, the greater the impact our community can make on future Beaver students and each other.

Architect and campus planner Lan Ying Ip P’29 (Harvard University) guided US students as they designed places of worship exploring the intersection of religion, mathematics, and symmetry.

Executive Producer of The Simpsons Matt Selman ’89 met with US students for an afternoon talk, crediting Beaver’s writing teachers with shaping his career and keeping the conversation going long past schedule.

Award-nominated filmmakers and authors Vita (pictured above) and Ethan Murrow P’27 joined the 2024 MS Social Justice Retreat to show students how creativity fuels change.

Pictured here on a May 2025 panel for US science students, Gina Lombard ’21—currently pursuing her MPH in Epidemiology & Biostatistics at Boston University—described how Beaver’s rigorous program prepared her to excel in college research and communication.

Pictured here speaking at Beaver’s TEDx event, trustee and alum Conor Savoy ’09 praised the students’ organization and inspiring presentations.”It’s groups like Beaver TedX that really show the value of Beaver’s approach to education.”

Meeting students where they are, understanding their interests, and helping them turn their visions into reality—that is the heart of what our faculty and staff do every day. It simply would not be possible without your generosity.
