When Beaver parent Caroline Genco (Brandon ’03, Christina ’06) speaks about her daughter Christina, it’s always with a smile.

“Christina brightened every room she entered. You immediately felt her incredible energy for people and for anything she put her mind to,” she recalls.

As a student at Beaver, Christina pursued her passions in both the arts and athletics. She was a force on the lacrosse, soccer, and basketball teams and used her unique skill to bring people together as a team. At the same time she channeled her creativity in the art studio producing works that reflected her deep creativity and vibrant spirit. Caroline cherished how Beaver allowed both Christina ‘06 and her brother Brandon ‘03 to explore freely, and to expand and deepen their interests at a critical time in their learning journeys. She remembers the strong sense of community that she and her children experienced—the feeling of being truly known and seen by faculty and school leadership. The Genco family described Beaver as “a home away from home,” a place with caring adults who offered support, guidance, and a true sense of belonging.

Beaver is also where Christina discovered a deep commitment to service and helping others—a value that would become central to her life’s path. At Boston University, Christina pursued dual degrees in Graphic Design and Hospitality Administration while also building BU’s first Girls Lacrosse Club. At the same time as founding that Club, Christina also continued to coach and manage over 300 young girls at Revolution Lacrosse (REV), a role that she served in formally after her graduation from BU in 2010. Throughout college and beyond, Christina felt a calling to help victims of Hurricane Katrina and built homes with Habitat for Humanity through the Bike & Build program, combining her love of cycling with her commitment to community.

While Christina’s life was tragically cut short in 2011 while she was leading a cross -country cycling trip with Bike & Build, her spirit will continue to shine at Beaver through the Christina Clarke Genco ’06 Scholarship Fund, established by the Genco Family in 2024.

“We all have such warm and joyful memories of Beaver,” Caroline says. “It’s meaningful for us to allow Christina to continue making an impact by helping future Beaver students realize their passions in such a warm, loving, and thoughtful community.

In reconnecting with Beaver and visiting campus recently, Caroline and her husband David Fusco have seen how teachers continue to honor student’s passions and encourage societal impact.

We feel terrific knowing that future scholarship recipients will benefit from a Beaver education — and, we hope, have a similarly meaningful experience to the one our children had. We invite Christina’s classmates, teammates, and those who knew and loved her to join us in also supporting the Christina Clarke Genco Fund.

With our gratitude, The Family of Chris Genco ‘06
Christina Genco ’06
