I feel fortunate to be on this journey as a life-long learner. It all started at my father’s restaurant where I spent many summers working with Spanish-speakers as a high school student. It sparked an interest in me to pursue acquiring another language and opened my eyes to other ways of life. Studying abroad at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, living with a family in the Dominican Republic, volunteering in Guatemala, and working in South Korea as well as Colombia provided me with the opportunities to reflect on my own identity while learning from other cultures that were different from the one I was born into. In my 10th year, I continue to learn from the Beaver community where its approach to education does not cease to evolve with and for the students. Since my time at my alma mater, Tufts University, where I studied Sociology and Spanish, I am excited to continue my studies in School Leadership at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I currently reside in Hyde Park with my husband and son, Nico.
