THE BVR STUDENT
Aaron Westerling ’28 presented Values Mistakes and Takes Responsibility for Actions.
To me, this means mistakes are how we learn and improve. We need to take responsibility for our mistakes to learn from them. It is important to me because learning from failure is the key to success. As Albert Einstein once said, “Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.”

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS BOOK …
The book features a lot of adventure and there is something going on all the time. The illustrations are realistic in a comic way.
WHY I THINK YOU WOULD LIKE IT …
I recommend this book because it’s a quick read. If you like action and adventure you’ll like this story.
WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT
Ms. Baker reminded students about the on-campus BVR community event celebrating Mr. Christy on Monday, November 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. All members of the community are invited to attend. RSVP here. We are encouraging student submissions for the event:
- Videos: Students are invited to make videos for the event. They can film them themselves or go to the marketing office today to film during recess/lunch.
- Paper cranes: students can make paper cranes in RISE today or during advisory tomorrow.
- Songs: Students are encouraged to submit songs to Amber Kuntz that make them think of Mr. Christy, or that they think he’d like.
8th graders were reminded that they and their families are invited to attend the upcoming BVR Admission Information Events to get to know the Upper School.
We are hosting one virtual event this Thursday, November 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and an in-person event on Thursday, December 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. We look forward to seeing you! Please RSVP here.
Student Council President, Andrew Adamic ’27, and 6th grade representative, Rishaan Chowdhury ’29 thanked everyone for their Halloween spirit and announced the winners of the Halloween costume contest and candy corn jar guessing contest:
- Most Creative Costume: Brianna Wand ’29
- Best Character Costume: Kiernan Collins ’27
- Best Homemade Costume: Jasper Ingenthron ’29
- Funniest Costume: Cam Bloch ’27
- Candy Corn in a jar Guessing Contest: Lee Jacobs ’29 and Noa Shatz-Cauley ’29 (they shared the candy corn with their classmates)

Today’s RISE activity was making paper cranes for the celebration event for Mr. Christy. Through fun activities, students learn how to deal with stress and worry.
