In the Classroom: Grade 9 Physics, The Buggy Lab

Posted on September 23, 2019

9th grade students in Mr. Zachry and Ms. Reich’s Conceptual Physics classes completed their first unit learning about constant velocity using “The Buggy Crash Test”. They discussed what it means for something to travel at a constant velocity and then took data to determine their buggy’s velocity through a graph and equation. Next, they brought all of this together to work in groups to predict the crash point between two buggies traveling at different velocities.

This is our take on the classic physics problem, “If two trains are traveling at different speeds towards each other, where will they meet?”
