Here is a short wrap-up from this past week—September 11 through September 15 —in the Upper School.

Students kicked off the week with Advisory on Monday. Advisors shared reminders about campus protocols and checked in about how students were adjusting to the beginning of the school year.

On Tuesday, advisories looked through a presentation detailing what clubs will be offered this term. Students were encouraged to make a list of potential clubs they would like to join. Next week, a club fair will be hosted for students to expand upon their initial interests!

An eventful Upper School meeting took place on Wednesday, with several big announcements. To start, Admission representatives announced that applications are now open for new Admission Ambassadors. The application is due next Monday, September 18 and can be found here.

A new program started by US students, BEE (or Beaver Expanding Education), was announced. BEE is a system that will enable 9th and 10th graders to get support from an 11th or 12th grader with any subject. This support could be for a project, help with organization, peer editing, or even helping a student reach out to a teacher. Interested students should apply here.

Student actors and stage managers announced the performing arts lineup for the year, with Mamma Mia as the spring musical!

On Thursday, HOS Kim Samson stopped by the BVR-X course Entrepreneurship with a Purpose to discuss her role at Beaver. Students in the course have been learning about the marketing funnel and the function of various positions within a business, including the role of CEO. Ms. Samson shared how she came to Beaver, her favorite parts of the job, and the challenges of running an organization.

Friday wrapped up a busy week in athletics, with multiple games taking place and being postponed due to weather-related concerns. To stay updated on Beaver’s athletic schedule, visit the Beaver Athletics website!
