BVR academics: Former prosecutor Jodi Walker talks about criminal justice reform

Posted on April 17, 2020

Class: Theories of Justice
Grades: 11th and 12th
Teacher: Yolanda Wilcox González

As part of the Prison Reform Studio, students in the Theories of Justice class heard from former prosecutor Jodi Walker. On back-to-back days, Walker visited the class virtually to talk to students about the complex role of a prosecutor, her work, and her most memorable cases. She then answered students’ questions, including “Do you ever find yourself prosecuting a person who you personally believe to be innocent?”, “What changes in the system do you think need to be made in order to make our justice system more just?”, and “How do you deal with uncertainty in prosecuting someone?”.
