The Beaver Country Day School Performing Arts Department Presents
Always Plenty of Light At The Starlight All Night Diner
Setting
The Starlight All Night Diner is in Arizona. Somewhere in the desert where the sky stretches vast overhead, the days are long and hot, and the nights are cold and lonely.

Director’s Note
This year we felt it was important to still have the Advanced Theater class produce a play together. While these students have been in theater or technical theater classes together for four years preparing, this year each person working on Starlight was rarely in the same room together during rehearsals, and the entire play was filmed from the student’s homes. We wanted to give you a peek into the home studios and design lab so you could try to imagine what it might be like to look into the “green light” on your computer instead of into the eyes of your scene partners to create a piece of theater. Unlike any play I have directed, Starlight will stand alone as a pure testament to the enthusiasm, dedication, perseverance, and creativity of these Advanced students. The ensemble was often isolated, but none of us were ever alone throughout this very special process.
