Students gathered in Bradley Hall this week for Beaver’s annual Film Festival. The event–presented by Film Club–allows student filmmakers to showcase their creativity through the creation of short films. At the end of both festival screenings, awards were given out to celebrate the work of each student.
Featured films include…
- Codes to Kill, William Mortimer
- Heist-itate, Kiernan Collins
- Owen’s Eleven, Owen Eddy ’25
- Dress to Impress Heist, Clare Connolly
- Owen’s Eleven: The Last Job, Owen Eddy ’25
Despite students being challenged to create their films around a heist theme, no two films were alike. In Codes to Kill, animated LEGO characters travel to Dubai on a top-secret mission. In Dress to Impress Heist, a friendly game of Roblox devolves into a story of revenge. Laughter and cheering were commonplace throughout all of the films, with students excited to see cameos from their friends and teachers.
The Film Club meets weekly during Club Block. To get involved with the next Film Festival, reach out to Club Advisor Lauren Duffy.
