Jason Brown–a 2001 alumnus and managing partner of Blue Flag Partners, a Boston-based investment firm–returned to campus this week to speak to the Business and Economics Club. Jason gave insights into his work in real estate and hospitality and shared how he has navigated his career thus far. Students had a chance to ask questions, prompting an in-depth discussion about the industry including room pricing strategies, effectively pitching ideas to investors, and the importance of curating hospitality experiences.
Students arrived prepared and excited for the chat. One student shared what he found interesting when researching the company, including a quote from Blue Flag Partners’ co-founder Terry Sanford, “a sense of adventure inspires everything we create.” Jason elaborated on how this philosophy shapes the firm’s projects, stating that their mission is to deliver immersive experiences in each of their developments. He emphasized Blue Flag’s commitment to innovation and stewardship and how that guiding principle influences everything from design choices to community impact, driving the firm’s success in creating memorable spaces.
The Business and Economics club plans to continue building upon the discussions started with Jason’s visit throughout the rest of the year. To read more about clubs at Beaver, click here!
