Jordan Alloway ’17–Emmy Award-Winning Content Associate at ESPN and Beaver alum–spoke to the Socio-Economics of Sports class this week about his experiences in the sports media industry.
Jordan is an Emmy Award-winning Content Associate at ESPN with over five years of professional media experience, including roles as a Production Assistant and intern at NFL Films. His journey into sports media stems from a passion for athletics and storytelling, which he seamlessly integrates into his work. Jordan has hands-on experience with cinematic production in both professional and collegiate environments, using DSLR and high-end camera equipment to create compelling narratives through game coverage and team videos. His role involves filming and editing game highlights, conducting player interviews, and producing team hype videos.
In college, talk to people, network—you never know who you are going to school with or the power of the alumni network. That’s how I got my first internship at the NFL.

When speaking with the class, Jordan touched on how his background as an athlete has greatly influenced his career, giving him a deep understanding of leadership, perseverance, teamwork, and respect. When asked about his favorite part of the job, Jordan states that “being able to explore my creative side while still maintaining a connection to sports” is what he is most thankful for.
Jordan’s journey started at Beaver, where he was encouraged to pick up a camera after sustaining an injury, igniting a passion that led him to where he is today. Jordan contributes to the Beaver community by serving as a member of Beaver’s Corporation and the Athletics Task Force.
