US Weekly-Wrap Up: 12.15.23

Here is a short wrap-up from this past week—December 11 through December 15—in the Upper School.


It was an exciting weekend for Beaver Athletics, with the 13.1 team completing in the Walter’s Run 5k as their first race of the season. Multiple students placed at the top of their age groups, with Will Fandrey ’24 placing first overall.

Varsity fencing also had an exciting weekend with a team trip to downtown Boston. The outing provided students with an opportunity to bond as a team and celebrate their work before winter break.


On Tuesday, the DECA club–a program designed for students interested in business and leadership–walked away with multiple awards after competing in a DECA district competition. The competition challenged students to hone in on their leadership skills and create business plans in various categories. To view the full list of awards, click here!


A Hanukkah party was hosted by the Jewish Affinity Group and Jewish Cultural Club on Thursday. Food, music, and activities such as “pin the star on the Menorah” brought students and staff together to celebrate the holiday.


On Friday, student council encouraged students to wear pajamas to celebrate the last day of school before winter break. Classes will resume Thursday, January 4.
