Hello, Middle School Students and Families! Before we get into what’s happening in the Middle School this week, we wanted to flag an important form for you to complete:
Student Council announced a Middle School field trip to Launch Trampoline Park in Norwood on Friday, June 2. All students must have a completed liability and release form in order to participate. You can print, sign, scan, and email the completed form to msforms@bcdschool.org or have your child bring it to the front desk of the school. Signed forms must be completed by Friday, May 26. More details about the field trip below.

Taylor Andrews ’29 presented asks for help when they are struggling.
I chose this because when I am doing an assignment, I want to make it my best work, and if I am stuck, I ask for help so I can complete it thoroughly. I want to get good feedback, so asking for help helps me to complete assignments on time and do my best work. If I am at home, I email my teachers. If I am in class, I’ll ask my teacher.

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS BOOK …
I love adventure and survival stories. The book is based on a true story about a group of people that need to survive at sea.
WHY I THINK YOU WOULD LIKE IT …
I recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure or travel stories. If you like Refugee by Alan Gratz you’ll probably like this book.
WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT
Marwa Murphy ’27, Ruby Nielsen ’27, and Verveine Oringer ’27, this year’s head admission ambassadors, encouraged all 7th-grade students who are Admission Ambassadors to apply to be next year’s head admission ambassadors. All three of them spoke about why they applied to be head admission ambassadors:
- Marwa: “Being an admission ambassador goes beyond the steps of the admissions process, but rather being like a friend and a familiar face to incoming students and ensuring I can be a connection between an incoming student and everything Beaver has to offer.”
- Ruby: “As an admissions ambassador I have had the opportunity to ensure that this process at Beaver feels comfortable. In addition, I am passionate about helping visiting students understand more about Beaver as a school.”
- Verveine: “I was eager to teach other people about the Beaver community and feel included as they toured to see if this was a fit for them. I wanted to do my part for the community and share it with others.”
Nate Howard ’28 and Rishaan Chowdhury ’29 announced this week’s “Teacher Appreciation.” Nate presented Mr. Hausman and Rishaan presented Ms. Sullivan.
This week in advisory, each group will be creating their own restaurant menu. Each advisee will be tasked with thinking of a dish that represents a part of who they are. We will be brainstorming ways food can represent a part of our identity during advisory. In the end, each advisory will have its own menu that represents their individual identities through food.
Friday, June 9 is 8th-grade Promotion! The whole Middle School attends this event. 8th graders are having a class meeting tomorrow to hear more details. The 8th-grade class will select classmates to speak at promotion; 8th graders need to let me know by tomorrow morning if they are interested in being considered for a class speaker.
As we mentioned above, Student Council announced an all Middle School field trip to Launch in Norwood on Friday, June 2. After lunch, we will all get on buses and head out to the trampoline park; we will be back on campus by 3:30 p.m.
