Class: Cuisine and Culture (Foundations of Spanish)

Students in the Foundations of Spanish Cuisine & Culture class spent the morning making tortillas and quesadillas from scratch on the Cohn Terrace. Through the class, students explore the culture associated with cuisine in Spanish-speaking communities and talk about the typical gastronomy of different countries.
By doing so, the students learn vocabulary related to groceries, ingredients, and the kitchen, and they also become acquainted with the different expressions and units of measurement used in Hispanic countries. — Joel Zavala, teacher
