Rebecca Barnes ’18 presents at MGH Imaging Lab on Metastatic Melanoma

Posted on March 2, 2017

Rebecca Barnes has been working with Dr. Elizabeth Gerstner, a member of the Neuro-Oncology team at MGH, since summer 2016, and she’s become invested in the work being done in that department. Most recently, she completed an independent study where she spent one day a week at MGH focusing on a plethora of topics, including data organization of patient information; viewing image drawings; using a program called Slicer to draw the regions of interest for each of the images sent; and graphing data to find patterns.

At the culmination of the term, she presented her research on imaging graphs to a room full of doctors and scientists at the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
