BVR STUDENT HIGHLIGHT
Romy Seidman ’28 and Maggie Whitney ’28 presented takes time to consider the thoughts and feelings of others.
To us, this means that we take the time in our day to make sure our friends and community feel respected and included. It means a lot to us to include everyone and to make sure everyone feels like they belong. It is important to us because you should always be there for your community and care about how others feel.

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THIS BOOK …
It’s a horror story about a woman with golden hair that gives her psychic powers, and the cult that is trying to hunt her down. Each chapter is a different part of an interconnected story.
WHY I THINK YOU WOULD LIKE IT …
I recommend it to anyone who likes horror. There are amazing illustrations and creepy images.
WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT
Toby Marsh ’28 and Peter Mortimer ’28 announced the Middle School Fall Play, The Bookstore happening this Thursday and Friday, October 27 and 28 at 6 p.m. in Bradley Hall.
Performances are Thursday and Friday, October 27 and 28 at 6 p.m. in Bradley Hall. Tickets will go on sale to the BVR community on Monday and students can sign up to be ushers for each show.

El Strom ’27 and Grace Batycky ’27 recapped yesterday’s Hiatt Leadership Institute, The Leader Within.
I learned that a leader has to have many qualities, but the one that stuck with me the most was that a leader has to have responsibility.

The next Hiatt Institute, The Science and Art of Character-Shaping is Monday, November 14.
Marwa Murphy ’27, Ruby Nielsen ’27, and Verveine Oringer ’27, this year’s Head Admission Ambassadors, invited 8th graders and their families to attend the upcoming BVR Admission Information Events to get to know the Upper School.
We are hosting one virtual event on Thursday, November 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and an in-person event on Thursday, December 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. We look forward to seeing you! Please RSVP here.
Lawrence Rosembert ’28 talked about Middle School science teacher Kevin Rohn who is hiking the Appalachian Trail.
Mr. Rohn shared a video from the start of his adventures about beavers on the trail. He also shared a recent picture of him at the ¾ mark.
We are so excited to have Mr. Rohn back in January to share more stories of his adventures with us.
The babysitting class that students signed up for is happening this Friday, October 28, the last day of fall Parent/Caregiver-Teacher Conferences. Students who got into the class received an email from Ms. Hollos.
Andrew Adamic ’27, El Strom ’27, Ruby Nielsen ’27, Reid Bugbee ’28, Toby Marsh ’28, Rishaan Chowdhury ’29, and Maddy SaCouto ’29, Student Council representatives made two announcements about Halloween!
The Middle School is encouraged to come to school in costume for Halloween. Students were reminded to complete the form to let us know what they plan to wear before Monday. We then watched a video about costumes that would not be appropriate due to cultural appropriation.
On Monday during Afternoon Activities, Student Council is sponsoring an event that will include Halloween-themed games and crafts.

Today’s RISE activity was a nature walk and bracelet making boards. Through fun activities, students learn how to deal with stress and worry.
Today and Thursday’s D-Level Creation Nation activity is creating an animated cartoon with Scratch. Students are welcome on the D-Level during their recess.
I reminded students about where they can put their belongings while on campus.
- All athletic gear can be put on the shelves outside the locker rooms.
- Advisors will be talking to students about where they can keep their coats and bags
- I also reminded students to label their belongings so that if they get lost, they have a better chance of getting them back.
