Upper School Weekly Wrap-Up: 6.03.22

Here is a short wrap-up from this past week—May 31 through June 3—in the Upper School.


On Monday school was closed in observance of Memorial Day.


On Tuesday the Theories of Justice class presented their learnings on the Opioid Crisis in Boston. Students have been studying the history of the opioid crisis in America and narrowed in on the Boston area. They chose a topic of focus based on their interest in one of three categories: History/ Trends, Rehabilitation, and the Community Impact in the Boston area.

For Club Spotlight on Tuesday, we caught back up with the STEM Club leaders to get an overview of their experience.

In the evening was Senior Night 2022: A Reception for Seniors & Parents. This was a celebratory evening for seniors and their parents/caregivers, and it featured the senior class video, faculty speaker, and more surprises!


On Wednesday we had the final US Meeting of the 2021-2022 school year.

Class of 2022 attended the Senior Red Sox Game Night in the evening. They met at Beaver and took a bus to Fenway.

On Thursday, Soumaya Ibourk’s US French Class took a field trip to Le Petit Robert Restaurant, a restaurant specializing in french cuisines in a Parisian-style setting.

In the evening, there was the Learning by Doing: A Showcase of Independent Study + Student-Designed Projects.


On Friday was the Foundations of Theater class performance. There were three 10-minute plays.

Amelia Walske’s US Studio Practice class took a field trip to deCordova sculpture park and museum.

Affinity Groups met during lunch block.

Seniors came back on campus for Experience Programming where they discussed upcoming Senior Spring events and information leading up to graduation. They then presented their senior experiences to Juniors and Faculty/Staff.
