Class: Science
Grade: 8th
Teacher: Kevin Rohn

Using spectroscopy, students took on the role of astronomers to identify the elements present in various light sources. Each student received their own handheld spectroscope—which separates the light into the colors of the rainbow by wavelength—to make observations. Based on the wavelengths and colors emitted by each light, students were able to identify the elements present—just as astronomers do with light from distant stars and galaxies!
