Posted on April 4, 2013

Bruce Myren is an artist and photographer based in Cambridge, MA. He holds a BFA in photography from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and earned his MFA in studio art from the University of Connecticut, Storrs in 2009. Myren is represented by Gallery Kayafus in Boston, exhibiting his work both nationally and publishing internationally.

Currently, Myren is a Critic at the Rhode Island School of Design; Adjunct Faculty at the Art Institute of Boston; Lecturer at Northeastern University; and recently was a Visiting Lecturer of Art at Amherst College. He is the Chair of the Northeast Region of the Society for Photographic Education.

At the Tuesday Forum on April 2, Bruce Myren will share his most recent project called “The Fortieth Parallel,” a project that has been highlight in the Huffington Post, Petapixel, Slate, Slate France, and the National Geographic online. The photographs in this series include an investigation of the Fortieth Parallel of latitude: a piece of that document is the view from every place he has lived to where he lives now: and a study of the poet Robert Francis’s one-person house in the woods of Amherst, MA.
