Posted on February 27, 2013

This week, three student-athletes were honored with Athletic Accolades. Maya Blair ’14, Jessica Ainooson ’16, and Jesse Roberts ’17 received the award for their hard work and performance on the courts and ice.

Maya Blair ’14 – Girls Varsity Ice Hockey

Second year Captain Maya Blair has been a leader for the Girl’s Varsity Ice Hockey program throughout the season. She has been been the team’s leading scorer with 7 goals and 2 assists and has come up with big plays against many league rivals. With small numbers this year, she has had to double and even triple shift when necessary. Her energy as captain has helped the team through some hard fought losses and an impressive 5-0 win over Berwick Academy’s JV team, a game in which Maya scored her first career Hat Trick. The team and coaches all look forward to her improvement and leadership as they are already looking ahead to next season.

Jessica Ainooson ’16 – Girls’ JV Basketball
Jessica has showed tremendous improvement this year. She has accepted the role of a leader which showed the best at our away game win vs NCD where she was our leading scorer with 12 points. Besides the intensity that she brings on offense, Jessica is the best shot blocker and re- bounder on our team. As coaches we are very proud to see her growth on and off the court.

Jesse Roberts ’17 – Middle School Boys’ A Basketball
Jesse was a huge impact player for us all season long. He led the team in scoring, rebounds and blocks. Jesse was a captain and leader, and he worked hard day in and day out to improve his game and help his team.
