Boys Cross Country
The Boys Cross-country team continued its undefeated streak this week at Pingree, the site of this year’s EIL Championship meet. Beaver swept the top three places to secure the win and improve their record to 3-0. Joe Connelly, George Wright, and Murray Sklonick took first through third respectively. Rounding out the top seven Beaver finishers were Niles Cohen (10th place), Liam Brady (11th), Neil Hildick-Smith (13th), and Clay Starr (14th). This week, Beaver travels to Great Brook State Park on Wednesday for a quad meet against Bancroft, Berwick, and undefeated Concord Academy.
Girls Cross Country
The Beaver Girls Cross Country Team came out on a cool rainy day last Wednesday to race one of the EIL’s toughest teams from Pingree. Despite not coming out on top there were some stellar performances, as each girl improved her 5 kilometer time by one to three minutes. Alex Bernard and Maya Blair led the Beaver girls with times of 24:01 and 24:09 respectively. Claire Chan was the next Beaver runner to finish, and she came through with a time of 25:41. The team’s next competition is on Wednesday at Concord Academy.
Field Hockey
The Varsity Field Hockey did not win this past week, but the girls came close on Friday at Concord Academy. Despite a strong team effort from Beaver, Concord scored and held on for a tight 1-0 win. This week, the team will look to rebound when they travel to Winsor on Wednesday and then host Portsmouth Abbey in the Harvestfest game on Saturday.
Golf
The Varsity Golf team had both of its matches postponed this past week which has given the team extra time to get ready and focus on the next two matches this week against Landmark and LCA. The boys will look to avenge an earlier loss this year in a very close match against LCA. Both contests are on the road.
Boys Soccer
The Boys Soccer team extended its winning streak to four with two EIL wins this past week. The boys hosted Pingree on Wednesday and earned a 3-0 shutout. The team then defeated Concord Academy 1-0 on Friday to hand them their first loss of the season. Silmar Bueno scored with an assist from Zachary Herivaux with just 14 minutes remaining. The boys now stand at 6-0-0 in the EIL and 7-1-0 overall. This week, the team will head to Pingree for a rematch on Wednesday before hosting Providence Country Day on Saturday.
Girls Soccer
The Girls Varsity Soccer team finished a busy week with a 1-1-1 record. The girls came out strong early in the week against a talented Dana Hall team and came from behind on two separate occasions by goals from senior captain Maria Zecca to finish the game with a 2-2 tie. On Wednesday, Beaver traveled to Newton Country Day but were unable to come away with a win, as they fell to a strong Newton team 4-0. On Friday, the sun came out and Beaver traveled to Concord Academy looking for a strong finish to the week. The girls were able to maintain possession and create several quality scoring opportunities. The team came away with a 2-1 win with goals from Maria Zecca and Grace Brescia. Hannah Goldstein added an assist and Liza Cooper played well in goal to keep Concord at bay. Beaver continues their busy schedule this week with three more matches.
Volleyball
The Volleyball team lost an EIL matchup on Wednesday to Newton Country Day by a score of 3-1. The girls will regroup with two matches this week. On Wednesday, Beaver will host the Pingree Highlanders, and on Friday, the team will travel to Chapel Hill Chauncy Hall for a non-league match.
