Beaver alumna Christina Genco ’06 was tragically killed in a bicycle accident last June as she was leading a Bike & Build ride from South Carolina to Santa Cruz to benefit affording housing groups like Habitat for Humanity.
On May 13th, the first annual Christina Clarke Genco Mother’s Day Memorial Ride will be held in Newton to support the Christina Clarke Genco Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to “inspire youth to find their passion and make a difference in their communities.” The Foundation has established three funds that target affordable housing, safe biking, and a women’s lacrosse scholarship – all areas that Christina was passionate about.
The ride will feature four routes for riders of all levels. There will be a 3.4 mile route for families and rides of 17, 34, and 68 miles for bicyclists at a higher level.
More information about the Foundation and the memorial ride can be found at www.ccgfoundation.org. To register for the ride, visit http://www.bikereg.com/Net/15346.
We look forward to seeing many members of the Beaver community on May 13th supporting the Foundation and remembering Christina.
