Bernstein, Cabot, and Kennedy Take Home Athletic Accolades

Beaver Athletic Director Sherry Levin announced the recipients of the latest Athletic Accolades at the all-school meeting on April 29. Reid Bernstein ’10 (varsity baseball), Brae Cabot ’10 (varsity softball), and Jamie Kennedy ’15 (MS baseball) were recognized for their achievements on the field.

“Reid definitely deserves it,” says coach Max Bogeart. “So far this year he is hitting .500 with four RBIs. During a recent game against LCA he threw out a base runner from left field. Reid also has shown great senior leadership and has been a positive role model for his teammates.”

“Brae Cabot, our senior captain, has pushed herself and has worked hard to become recognized as one of the top third basemen in the league,” coach Nancy Collins says. “She currently holds a .400 batting average. Brae is a strong leader both on and off the field. She shows up everyday with a positive attitude and is a person her teammates look up to.”

“In Beaver’s most recent game against Brimmer & May, Jamie had two RBI singles, four steals, and pitched 3.2 innings with seven strikeouts,” raves coach Chris Chaplin. “All season he has been an invaluable asset to the team — catching, pitching, playing shortstop, playing center field, and generally setting an example for his teammates with his combination of humility and positive attitude. Though only a seventh grader, his leadership on the team and his maturity set him apart and make him most deserving of this accolade.”
