One of the things that makes Beaver so special is the strength of its community. At the heart of that community are the parents and caregivers who volunteer their time, energy, and enthusiasm throughout the year.
As Beaver looks ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, there will be many opportunities for families to get involved, stay connected, and support the school community in meaningful ways. In addition to Parent Association and program-specific roles, Beaver will also offer new school-wide volunteer opportunities designed to bring parents and caregivers together across divisions, grades, and experiences.
From mentoring students and supporting faculty in the classroom to helping with events and welcoming new families, volunteers play an essential role in shaping the Beaver experience and strengthening the broader school community.

“This year, we had the opportunity to mentor two Beaver students as they prepared for a DECA [a program designed for students interested in business and leadership] competition,” shared Lora and Tim LaBranche P’28, ’28, ’29. “We thoroughly enjoyed sharing our experiences, and we were so impressed by the professionalism and work ethic of the students we mentored. What’s amazing about mentoring students is that you learn just as much from them as they learn from you. Connecting with the next generation of leaders at Beaver has been truly joyful.”
Volunteers partner closely with Beaver administrators to foster a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all families through educational programming, social events, faculty/staff appreciation efforts, and community-building initiatives. Many parents say volunteering has strengthened their own connection to the Beaver community.
The best thing I did when joining the Beaver community was jump right into volunteering immediately. I quickly got to know parents from all different grades, many of whom have become close friends. I also learned more about Beaver by being involved. I’m so glad I was able to volunteer for the PA at Beaver and highly recommend it to both new and returning parents!

For many volunteers, the relationships built through Beaver become one of the most meaningful parts of the experience. “I have loved all of my volunteer experiences at Beaver,” shared Kathy Rothman P’17, ’22, ’26. “Volunteering has been a wonderful way to get to know, and work with, other parents, as well as some amazing Beaver staff. It has been such a fun and meaningful way to support and give back to a community that will always be a very special place to me.”
Beaver welcomes involvement at every level. Whether you have a few hours to give throughout the year, would like to help with a single event, or are interested in taking on a larger leadership role, every contribution helps strengthen the Beaver community. We invite all parents and caregivers to explore the many opportunities available and join the 100+ volunteers who help make Beaver such a special place.
It has been so rewarding to volunteer at Beaver over the years. We’ve been able to develop ways for the parent/caregiver community to show their appreciation to the faculty and staff, which has been very fulfilling. It’s also been a wonderful way to feel connected because I’ve met faculty and staff across the entire school, as well as parents across all grades.
