At Reunion 2026, the Beaver community celebrated Andy Spellman ’96, P’26, ’27, ’28 as he was honored with this year’s Alumni Award. Founder of Fifth Down Capital, Andy is an entrepreneur and investor focused on supporting founders and their vision. Previously, he co-founded Fireman Capital and held roles at Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs.

In his remarks at Reunion, Andy touched on the power of connecting with students and being involved with the Beaver community. He also shared the impact of seeing the school through the lens of his children: “Having my kids come to Beaver over the last few years—a senior, a junior, and a sophomore—and watching them grow is truly incredible,” he shared.

Beaver’s Alumni Award recognizes an alumna/us who has achieved distinction in a particular field of endeavor, whether it be in a chosen profession, through formal or volunteer activities or through personal commitment to an issue, project or cause. This recipient also demonstrates the Beaver vision and mindset and is an enthusiastic supporter of Beaver Country Day School.

Andy remains deeply engaged with Beaver as a speaker, mentor, and Senior Experience host—bringing founders to campus and investing in the next generation. He embodies the curiosity, generosity, and impact celebrated by the award.

What I really love about Beaver is that everybody can make a difference. Whether it’s going to a class or finding a few kids and making that connection, that’s what the opportunity is here.
