As students engage in conversations around the election, Mr. Castillo discussed our community commitments and ways to have respectful dialogue.

He highlighted the BVR Student elements as important skills we strive to uphold as good community members:

  • Listens with thoughtful attention
  • Expresses opinions mindful of intent and impact
  • Takes time to consider the thoughts and feelings of others

Middle School students have a variety of opportunities this week to check in and discuss the election.

One of these opportunities is an opt-in R-TIME activity Reflect, Heart, ActionPost Election on November 7. Students are invited to this supportive space to reflect and learn ways to move to action and participate in our democracy regardless of age.
