When the lights in the Black Box Theater go down and the set of The Snow is lit up, a gentle snow begins to fall. Everything is bright and quiet, but it doesn’t stay that way for long; a town full of voices, a chaotic band of travelers, and a young boy determined to save his town soon storm the stage and take the audience on an epic journey.
The Snow begins after an epic snowfall imprisons the residents of the tiny village of Kishka. Young Theodore Sutton, determined to save his people and prove himself, proposes the villagers build a catapult to fling him and six of the village’s bravest out in search of a solution. The story that follows is one of whimsy, humor, and mystery.
Middle School students have been hard at work on and off stage bringing the story of The Snow to life. Off stage, students have meticulously crafted lighting and sound that immerses the audience in the cold environment of Kishka. On stage, actors leverage comedic timing and skillful narration to bring the script to life.
Performances of The Snow will take place on Thursday, November 14 and Friday, November 15 at 6:00 p.m. in the Black Box Theater. Tickets can be purchased here.
