Here is a short wrap-up from this past week—May 8 through May 12 —in the Upper School.
Students joined the Hiatt Center on a trip to Tulsa, OK on Monday for the Team Harmony We Have a Dream Action Institute & Rally. The four-day leadership program is designed to educate, inspire, and engage student leaders. Participating students will be encouraged to develop action plans to implement at Beaver and the surrounding community upon their return home.
Club Block took place on Tuesday. Students were reminded that they can apply to start a new club for the 2023-2024 school year by meeting with Mr. Huston and filling out an application. More information can be found here.
Students in Scene Study B were visited by a professional makeup artist for tips on stage makeup. For many students, the visit was a crash course in what to expect backstage next week when Something Rotten debuts at Beaver.
Advanced Engineering students visited Hebrew SeniorLife on Wednesday as part of an ongoing collaboration between the class and senior partners. Students have been working in groups to manufacture products such as cupholders, reading stands, and closet organizers that will aid their assigned partners in their everyday lives.
On Thursday, students got outside to enjoy the warm weather during Advisory. In addition to games of spikeball and football, students also took the time to read outdoors, connect with their advisors, and prepare for the rest of the year.
Friday was a busy day for Beaver athletes with several games taking place on and off campus. To stay up to date on the Athletics calendar, click here.
