Upper School Weekly Wrap-Up: 10.14.22

Here is a short wrap-up from this past week—October 11 through October 14 —in the Upper School.

On Monday, school was closed in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

During Club Block on Tuesday, Book Club was highlighted. To read more about Book Club and what novel they are currently reading, click here!

There were no Upper School classes on Wednesday due to Fall Parent Teacher Conferences.

Adam Szymkowicz, the playwright of the upcoming Upper School play Marian, or the True Tale of Robin Hood, chatted with students on Thursday about the show. Students had the chance to ask questions about their characters, inquire about the inspiration behind the play, and hear about the remarkable career of Szymkowicz. The gender-bending, patriarchy-smashing, hilarious new play about Robin Hood will take place on November 10th, 11th, and 12th at Beaver. To read more about the experience, click here.

In Advisory, 11th graders were each assigned a random celebrity without knowing which name they were given. To narrow down what celebrity they had, students relied on their classmates to give them hints and answer yes or no questions. In Class Meetings, 10th graders competed in a costume contest to earn points for their houses. The winning costume? Frankenstein!

On Friday, Beaver Athletics kick off a weekend full of games. To catch up on this week’s scores and upcoming games, check out the bottom of this post.
