PA Spring Social recap: A TASTE of Spring

Posted on April 12, 2017

More than 200 parents and guardians attended this year’s delectable Spring Social: A TASTE of Spring. Hosted by the Parent Association, the annual event featured an array of tasting stations. From freshly prepared spring rolls to gnocchi expertly (and excitingly!) sautéed in bursts of flames to crowd-pleasing red duck tostada bites by parent and chef Ming Tsai P’20, the food was the star of the evening and many people asked, “Who catered this?!”

The answer: Beaver’s own Chef Rachel Clayton from Sage Dining. Rachel runs the dining hall on a daily basis, has years of experience in fine dining, and jumped on board with the Spring Social planning team at the end of December. She’s a real rockstar and was crucial in helping this event come to fruition. We’re so lucky to have her!

And to wash down all of that delicious food, guests could choose from an array of local ciders, beers, and wines – served with the help of guest bartender Peter Hutton.

Thank you to all the creative and hard-working parent volunteers who made this event a huge success. From creating flower arrangements to securing donations to dressing up as the Beaver at pick-up, we couldn’t have done any of this without you. In addition, we’d also like to thank the multitude of parents who have given their time to Beaver throughout the year. It’s a very impressive list and we’re so grateful for all the support.

The overall mission of the Beaver Parent Association can be summed up as “Communication and collaboration result in a strong community”, and the Spring Social – as well as all of this year’s events – have embodied that.

So, thank you again, and we wish everyone a very Happy Spring!
