For the past two terms, NuVu students have worked in collaboration with Heidi Latsky Dance to design wearable sculptures for her performers for On Display Global – a performance arts piece that uses fashion as a tool of social justice to celebrate the beauty of difference.
Each one of the performers has a disability, and students worked closely with them to design individualized pieces that highlight a passion, experience, personality trait, or something that makes them feel strong.
“This is a beautiful studio,” said Rosa Weinberg, Idea Engineer at NuVu. “It’s an amazing experience for the students, performers, attendees, and coaches.”
