“I am a Drawing Activist. I believe in the power of drawing to change thinking and learning inside and outside the classroom.” – Deb Putnoi P’16, ’18

Have you ever drawn the sound of a whale or the smell of chocolate? Or by feel and not by sight?

Drawing is a tool for thinking in any subject, and to unlock Beaver’s collective drawing mind, students from MS and US art classes – along with artist and author of the The Drawing Mind Deb Putnoi  P’16, ’18 – will visit classrooms to help the community create drawings from smell, sound, and touch.

The goal is to have everyone at Beaver – students, teachers, and staff – complete a drawing.

Not in one of the visited classes or want to experiment more? Stop by The Drawing Mind lab in the Nancy Lincoln Gallery to access your drawing mind. The lab has several drawing stations where students, teachers, and staff are invited to draw what they smell, hear, or feel.
