Students curate show from alumnus’s collection

Students in the Art of Boston class helped curate the current show in the Nancy Lincoln Gallery – Graffito: from the Street to the Studio – from the art collection of Linda and Alan Bortman ’79, P’16.

Bortman fell in love with painting while at Beaver in the late 70s, which led to his lifelong interest in art. By allowing students to borrow work from his collection, he was able to bring back his passion to Beaver. Bortman and the students discussed how perceptions of Graffiti have changed over the generations and how/whom gets to decide what “art” is.
